Nonmember (All Day) – $90.00
This is the option for nonmembers who wish to participate in the entire day's activities.

This is for non-VEBA members who want to attend the lunchtime panel only. Lunch is available for purchase through this option.

Update: The lunchtime panel is now FREE to members AND nonmembers! Just pay for lunch if you'd like one.

Please join the Virginia Equality Bar Association on March 26, 2016 for our CLE Symposium.

The Symposium will be held at Williams Mullen in downtown Richmond, at 200 S 10th St, Richmond, VA 23219.

Our lunchtime panel will discuss the intersection of religious freedom and LGBT rights. The panel will be moderated by Sen. A. Donald McEachin, himself a member of the clergy and an attorney. Our distinguished guest panelists include:

Jim Obergefell, one of the named plaintiffs from the U.S. Supreme Court case that is now synonymous with marriage equality, Obergerfell v. Hodges
Paul M. Smith, Partner at Jenner & Block, Former Board Member of Lambda Legal, counsel at the U.S. Supreme Court in Lawrence v. Texas, the case that overturned state sodomy bans as unconstitutional
Claire Guthrie Gastañaga, Executive Director of the ACLU of Virginia
John Pagan, Professor at the University of Richmond School of Law

12:30 p.m. - 1:50 p.m.	Lunch and Panel Discussion: Religious Freedom, Conscience Clauses, or Licenses to Discriminate? Emerging Trends in Virginia and Beyond A panel discussion of the interplay between LGBT equality and religious freedom and a review of the various “religious freedom” and “religious conscience” bills that have been introduced around the country.
